Summary
The slide deck presentation framework should support generating a PDF from a slide deck that can either be downloaded or sent directly to contacts.
Motivation
Today decks are viewed and presented inside the portal, but there is no way to take a deck out of the mesh as a portable, offline artifact. A PDF export makes decks:
- Shareable with people who are not portal users (clients, external stakeholders).
- Downloadable for offline review, archiving, or attaching to other communications.
- Sendable directly to contacts from within the framework, closing the loop from authoring to distribution.
Proposed behavior
- An "Export to PDF" action on a slide deck that renders the full deck (all slides) to a single PDF.
- The PDF preserves slide layout/theming as closely as the rendered deck.
- Two delivery paths:
- Download — the user gets the PDF file directly.
- Send to contacts — pick one or more contacts and deliver the PDF to them.
Open questions
- Rendering approach (headless browser / server-side rendering of the deck's layout areas to PDF).
- How "contacts" are resolved and how delivery is performed (email? in-mesh notification with attachment?).
- Whether export is per-deck only or also supports a subset/range of slides.
