Does the DuckDB engine in AliSQL-8.0.44 support MySQL 5.7 as the primary data source when deployed as a replica? Thank you!

Hi, in theory, this setup should work.

The DuckDB engine consumes standard MySQL binlog events, and a MySQL 8.0 replica can generally replicate from a MySQL 5.7 source. Therefore, deploying AliSQL 8.0.44 with the DuckDB engine as a replica of a MySQL 5.7 primary should be feasible. We recommend validating the setup with your workload before using it in production.

For long-term maintenance, however, we recommend using an 8.0 primary with an 8.0 replica whenever possible. DuckDB support is also available in our 5.7 branch, but updates and bug fixes for the DuckDB engine are currently landing more quickly in the 8.0 branch.
