Fails to start more than once per boot

I am on Windows 10.
To reproduce, start the computer and open the app. Close the app. Then try to open the app again. You will be presented with the attached error window. A workaround is to open task manager, kill the still-running instances of Electron, and then open the app again.

I have the same issue. I have to terminate all existing tasks related to GroupMe and then it will start again. Is there an option to perform a check and start the existing instance if there is one?

Problem is reproduced on Linux Ubuntu 18.04

A quick solution is to SIGTERM the process from the initial run.
