The head of my skin in the small image in my discord doesn't update when i change skins

i've saw a person with this same mistake and mentioned smth about "https://skinatar.firstdark.dev/avatar/" but since i'm a dumbdumb i have no idea of what this means. I'm quite lost rn

Hey there

So, changing skins is a bit of a headache with discord itself.

Basically the comment you read, is that the skin server we use in the mod, is our own. It does cache your skin for 2 hours, so between you updating your skin and our skin api updating it, is a minimum of 2 hours.

HOWEVER, discord can keep a copy of your skin cached for much, much longer than that.

You have a couple of ways to bypass that.

1. Forcefully reload your discord client with CTRL + R
2. Add something like ?v1 after the avatar placeholder in your config.

We are trying to figure out ways to handle this ourselves, without blowing up our servers
