🚀 Backend System Implementations

This repository is a collection of backend system modules, built to develop a strong, practical understanding of core backend engineering concepts.

The focus is not on production-ready systems, but on:

  • breaking down how things work internally.
  • experimenting with different approaches.
  • building intuition through hands-on implementation.

Each module is kept simple, modular, and easy to reason about.

Each module will have its own README.md detailing design decisions, implementation notes, and usage examples.

📌 Current Status

  • Rate Limiter.
  • Caching System.
  • REST API System - Basic Crud operations with TTL.
  • API Gateway - Refer to microservice boilerplate repo
  • Logging System(Winston, Grafana, prometheus) - Refer to microservice boilerplate repo
  • Other modules — Planned and structured for phased implementation**.

🧩 Roadmap & Modules

The repository will progressively include the following backend system modules:

  • Rate Limiting
  • Caching System
  • Job Queue / Background Worker
  • REST API System
  • Authentication & Authorization
  • File Upload System
  • Search System
  • Pub‑Sub System
  • Logging System
  • API Gateway

Each module will focus on clean architecture, modularity, and maintainable design, reflecting real-world backend engineering practices.

🛠️ Engineering Approach Modular Design: Each system is independent and extensible. Documentation-first: Each module includes detailed design decisions and implementation rationale. Production-oriented: Focus on scalability, maintainability, and clear code structure. Iterative Development: Build → document → improve → scale.

This approach mirrors real-world engineering practices used in designing backend systems for production environments.
