It was a sppoky June night when Dr. Spookyton was working late in their monster genetic engineering laboratory. They had been studying were-pandas for 54 months, hoping to make a glowing breakthrough.
As they sifted through their research notes, something dastardly caught their eye. A petri dish containing eyeballs was evaporating three feet above the lab bench!
"This is stupendous!" they whispered, adjusting their braces nervously. The dish began to vibrate in a pentagram pattern, glowing with a neon pink light.
Suddenly, a high-pitched voice echoed through the lab: "Your research on were-pandas has awakened us! We are the spirits of 66 researchers who died from marshmallow poisoning!"
Dr. Spookyton grabbed their bunsen burner and hurried toward the exit, but the ghostly petri dish vaporised them, leaving behind only the smell of fudge and a mysterious blue residue.
The next morning, their lab mates found only a note that read: "Gone to study polar bears with the ghost researchers. Back by Wednesday... maybe."
