OpenRoot

The Open Foundation for a Civilization That Works

"There will come a time when the animals are suffering and the earth is weeping, and there shall come a tribe from all corners of the earth, of all colors, classes, and creeds, and through their actions, shall make the earth green again, and they will be known as the Warriors of the Rainbow." — Hopi Prophecy

That time is now. This is the root.

Founded by: Jesse McMillen — Sikeston, Missouri Status: Node Zero Active — June 2026 License: Hardware CC-BY-SA 4.0 | Software GPL v3 Archive: DOI 10.5281/zenodo.20639511 Contact: jrm8908@proton.me

What OpenRoot Is

  1. Open hardware library — CC-BY-SA 4.0 forever. No patents. Ever.
  2. Knowledge commons — Community-built, peer-reviewed. Anyone can use and improve.
  3. ACRE token — Minted only for verified physical work. No speculation. No pre-mine.

The Thermal Loop

Passive solar-thermal cooling. Zero grid. Zero fans.

Fresh air → Desiccant → Underground labyrinth (FILLED SOLID with wet aerocement, 500–2,000 m²/m³ surface area) → Cold Tank B (radiative night-sky lid) → Solar panel → Hot Tank A → Stirling engine → back to desiccant.

Output air approaches ~55°F ground temperature on a hot day. Same physics as a ground-source heat pump. We never claim greater than 100% thermodynamic efficiency.

Projects

Project What It Is
AeroCement Node Zero — Sikeston MO. The thermal loop. The proof.
The Hearth Community energy sovereignty. Powers a neighborhood.
AEGIS MESH Decentralized mesh. Communications that cannot be shut off.

ACRE Token

Minted only for verified innovation — not for hours worked or repetition. No airdrops. No pre-mine. Building the first node in a new climate zone, fixing a documented flaw, shipping a new tool, or writing a new skill doc earns ACRE. Replicating a known build (e.g. node #47 in a climate already validated) earns 0 — it's real work, but not new knowledge. Two independent validators approve every claim. Full design: tokens/ACRE_SPECIFICATION.md

Bounty Board (Theoretical Framework)

The Bounty Board is a hypothetical framework — not an active reward system. It proposes that human necessity, structured correctly, becomes the primary driver of innovation toward the maximum good of a system.

Core hypothesis: When a system defines its greatest unmet needs as bounties — weighted by impact, urgency, and accessibility — it creates a natural allocation of human effort toward the nodes where work produces the highest systemic return.

How it would work (if implemented):

  1. A need is identified and posted as a bounty (e.g., water purification for a region)
  2. The bounty is weighted by systemic impact: How many people does this serve? How critical is the need? What is the knowledge gap?
  3. Builders pursue the bounty. Innovation occurs.
  4. If and when the ACRE token is deployed, verified innovation earns ACRE — minted for new knowledge created, not repetition of existing work
  5. Two independent validators confirm the work is novel and functional

ACRE token status: Conceptual. Not deployed. Solana integration is in progress. The tokenomics model exists in tokens/ACRE_SPECIFICATION.md but no tokens have been minted, pre-mined, or distributed. This page will be updated when the system is live.

Current hypothetical bounties (illustrative, not active):

Need Why It Matters Theoretical Weight
Water purification Clean water is the most basic node of human survival High
Refrigeration Food preservation, medicine storage — highest daily-life impact High
First thermal loop node Proves the core thermal cascade hypothesis (H-003) Critical
Agricultural tractor Multiplies human labor in food production Medium
Transit (bus) Enables mobility and connection between nodes Medium
Power plant Energy sovereignty at community scale High

The formula (proposed):

Bounty Value = Impact x Urgency x (1 - Existing_Solutions) / (Effort x Time_to_Deploy)

This is not a job board. It is a theoretical map of where human ingenuity should flow next, guided by permaculture principles and agape mathematics — the greatest good for the greatest number of system nodes, per unit of human effort applied.

Hard Rules

  1. Never claim greater than 100% thermodynamic efficiency
  2. 21-day wet cure — non-negotiable
  3. Tunnel FILLED SOLID — never lined or walled
  4. Two separate tanks — never combined
  5. Desiccant at intake only
  6. No patents. Ever.
  7. Failures are data — document honestly
  8. Serve the least first
