Gen Lambda is a CLI tool designed to simplify the process of creating, publishing, and managing AWS Lambda functions.

Before using Gen Lambda, ensure you have the following installed and configured:
- Python 3.11+
- Python 3.12+
- Python 3.13+
- Terraform
- Node.js 18
- Node.js 20
- Node.js 22
- AWS CLI (configured with
aws configure)
You can install Gen Lambda via pip:
pip install gen_lambdaAlternatively, you can install it using Poetry:
pip install poetry
poetry installThe CLI is powered by typer, providing an intuitive interface for managing Lambda functions.
lambda --helplambda --generateThis command will guide you through selecting:
- Lambda name
- Project name
- Environment (development, staging, production)
- Runtime (from available templates)
- AWS Region
- IAM Role creation
lambda --publishlambda --removelambda --zipYou will be prompted to choose from the following AWS regions:
- us-east-1
- us-east-2
- us-west-1
- us-west-2
- eu-central-1
- eu-west-1
- eu-west-2
- eu-west-3
- ap-southeast-1
- ap-southeast-2
- ap-northeast-1
- ap-northeast-2
- ap-south-1

Gen Lambda allows you to create a new IAM Role if necessary.
